I am at a career standpoint where i am really confused what to do.
I have 4+ yoe in RPA .I really dont think its sustainable as a career .I am willing to learn and move into something different.

I suppose good work could be done anywhere, and the business entanglements higher up don't have to affect it. But, having said that, there can be layers of management and more people who want to sign off on every little thing. And there can be a standardization across agencies that can be inhibiting. Another factor I've heard people complain about is that holding companies that are publicly traded are often focused on the quarterly numbers. So short term gain will take precedence. Generally speaking, for someone who really takes the work seriously, and wants creative freedom, a smaller independent shop is no doubt a better environment.
Yea, definitely steer clear of 95% of agencies!
Shouldn't be too hard when they're already steering clear of me anyway 😂
Wow I’ve worked at every single holding company on your list . Did I win holding company bingo?
NVM, Isn’t MDC a holding company? I never worked for them. Also, not sure where you put that Tata Consulting Services but they are buying up agencies like R/GA and Hill Holiday from IPG so there seems to be some divesting happening.
The other thing to consider is within holding companies you have agency networks like McCann Worldgroup which are mini- holding companies onto themselves.
I never worked at a truly private agency, but back in the old, old days not working for a corporate giant meant expense accounts, slush funds and basically more flexible accounting that made the job a bit more glamorous with more flexible perks (so I hear).
Now all the holding companies are basically the same. I think some are better than others in terms of review process and getting raises but I always saw that as mostly impacted by the direct agency you work for not the corporate overlords. This is mostly because managing directors are the ones who make the requests and fight for money.
I’ve worked for WPP, Omni, freelanced at Publicis and briefly worked for IPG. Same shit.
Yea of all the ones that I know on there I would say to steer clear. And of the ones that I do not know I have had friends say to steer clear. So I would say to stay away from atleast 95% of these.
Um. Yeah. Steer clear. The work this agency is proud of is actually pretty embarrassing. Spin with little substance.
I’d say the money is better and they’re more stable, but that’s proven untrue. My experience with holding companies has been endless bureaucracy, outdated processes, and lots of pointless lip service.
