Some days I feel highly motivated, and some days I feel low without any reason. Staying consistent is the biggest challenge. I think discipline is more important than motivation. What keeps you going when you don’t feel motivated?

Nothing. I'm not consistent 100% of the time. Or, more accurately, I'm consistently inconsistent. That's okay. Motivation ebbs and flows. When I'm locked in, I do more than enough work to make up for the slow periods, so I never beat myself up for having a slower week. The pendulum always shifts back eventually.

Not body can be consistent other then machine

I just focus on one small step. I’ll just get this email sent, and then we’ll go from there, for example. Not perfect, and I still struggle a lot throughout the day, but I’m at least getting something done.

Small step ..?

This is normal tbh. I’ve noticed if I over do it one day the next day I’m miserable. I try my best to do equal work everyday but it’s hard.

Totally agree with you

This is normal. I’m not motivated 100% of the time and that’s okay. I tend to do better if I have an off day and give myself grace so I’m more motivated the next day.

Its work for you ..?

Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Hi Fishes
What does designation lead rep quant analysis means.

48/M, average health. Few weeks ago I had a seizure out of the blue. First time ever, no family history. At the hospital given lots of tests: MRI, CT, EKG, EEG, blood/urine/COVID tests. Everything came back normal. Since hospital discharge I’ve seen cardiologist and wore halter monitor for a week. All good. Have neurologist appointment next month but afraid no one knows why this happened. In the meantime no one wants me to drive a car. Can this happen again? Can anyone relate to this situation?

I have 7 YOE and applied for a position that is L4. I feel as if I’m overqualified for the position, but the Recruiter told me that when they say L4, they are actually looking for someone with 6+ years of experience. Is this true? I feel like I should be looking at L5 with my experience

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.
