Not really a fan.
To me, AI generated Cover Letters are exactly what you'd expect, a lot of buzzwords and generalities, but short on any real content. When I tried ChatGPT I completely rewrote what it gave me, only borrowing some of the language and structure.
Everyone has to understand that most AIs are just aggregators. They take 1000s of examples and identify common threads. It is like asking for "what is the weather like in Denver?", you will get the averages and ranges for temp, humidity, precipitation, etc. But, it lacks the nuance you need to pack for a vacation.
As I have issues with remembering certain words and phrases that I want to use in an email or a letter, I also like to use AI as a helping tool. My native language is not English and I've always had trouble directly translating certain phrases from my native one. But I always double check if what it translates it to sounds off to me. The same goes for code. If it's a small issue and I don't want to spend time writing it myself, I would ask it to think of something, but if it doesn't make sense to me - I either go for my own solution or search online.
Popflex like the activewear company? If it’s that one that is such a personable brand/company. I’m a big fan of Cassey and she is a very hands on, detail oriented CEO. I would send her a handwritten cover letter before doing some AI garbage.
Oh I didn’t see that post, I thought you were saying you worked there. I actually love the company where I currently work, but I’ll check out her job postings to see what’s up over there.
There's a decent chance they're applying to so many companies that reviewing the output is unimportant.
AI use in jobs applications sucks because it makes it so every role has astronomically more applicants. However, it does feel like a rational choice considering how many employers use automated application filtering systems.
