I just usually play along and try to figure out what the price is. I'm at the point where a customer has to do or say something really extreme to get a rise out of me. Over time I've discovered it's easier to just shrug things off.
I'm usually able to find the price pretty easily just by typing whatever it is into the system. On the rare occasion that doesn't work, I'll just run wherever they're pointing. Our store isn't huge, so it doesn't take very long to do, and I'd rather get it right than have my manager get on my case for ringing something up incorrectly.

😂 I’d simply tell them, no problem, I’ll figure that out for you and just look up the price. It’s almost never difficult to figure out

I usually smile and say let me scan it so we get you the right price. It keeps it neutral and avoids the back and forth. Customers assume proximity equals knowledge, but there is no way to memorize an entire floor.

I usually smile and say something like, “I’ll check that for you right now,” even though inside I’m thinking, “Which one?” It keeps things polite and gets you the info without the awkward guessing game.
