Honestly, I feel like that's why so many companies don't want to invest in customer service anymore. Because people should be able to solve the majority of their own problems with some critical thinking skills.
Pro
Exactly! So many problems could be avoided if people just paid a little more attention. I don’t get how some say they’re too busy, yet have time to call about things that don’t even matter.
When I was working in customer service I'd get calls from people asking the most basic questions. And after a while I realized there are people who just feel like talking to someone. So they come up with a question about something they've bought and call a customer service department. It sounds crazy, I know, but I swear some of the calls were from people who wanted to hang out.
Pro
Oh yes, absolutely! I often get calls from people who start by confirming one small thing, then suddenly shift into asking random questions and talking about all sorts of unrelated stuff. It feels like they weren’t really calling for help, they just needed someone to talk to.

So true! A little extra attention upfront would save everyone so much hassle—and maybe even a few laughs when they find what they thought was missing!
Pro
Yeah, those conversations usually end in lots of laughs, and sometimes people get a bit embarrassed. I always try to reassure them-it’s totally fine, we’re all human and it happens to everyone.
