Somewhere between the main meeting and the sidebar chat with five acronyms, the original idea flatlines. Last month, I pitched an idea in a meeting. Got a few initial comments and we moved on. The real discussion happened two hours later in a smaller, unofficial call I wasn’t even invited to. Next thing I know, someone else is “leading” the idea and it’s barely recognizable. Happens too often in this line of work. Anyone else experience this?

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.

I have an active secret clearance, BS in strategic intelligence, working on a masters in cybersecurity, and taking Security+ in December. No work experience in cyber, just my education and bootcamp course for Security+. Should I still apply for job that want 2-5+ years cyber experience and/or an active TS clearance?
