If you’re looking for a sports watch I strongly recommend the Sinn 556. It’s reasonably sized at 38.5mm diameter, not too thick, and it’s got a reliable ETA movement. Really versatile and reminds me of the original Rolex Explorer.
Only downside is that it’s a smaller German company whose only distribution in the US is online, so you can’t try it on before you buy. I had a great experience with them (WatchBuys is the dealer)
Check out the new Monta Atlas. 38.5mm, GMT hand, versatile, and quite thin at 10mm. Less than $1750 right now.
Nomos makes great, thin watches, but you’ll almost certainly be above $2k for even a used automatic.
Yeah I got a Squale GMT that I really like but it’s not as functional as a true GMT when traveling
