S&P Global’s redundancy wave will continue through 2025, primarily impacting experienced IHS Markit employees, including Commodities research analysts. Senior roles are being replaced by junior positions, while mid-management sales roles remain. Despite claiming AI leadership, S&P Global still relies on manual contracts. Management fails to understand that IHS Markit offers niche solutions, requiring senior talent now being lost. The new CEO’s 10% growth target may not be sustainable.

That growth is probably coming from the downsizing of senior salaries more than anything. Seems like a constant story, experienced talent leaving and the company has no idea how much they are contributing. Wonder why the mid management roles are all staying though? Seems like that is top of the list to go usually.

Leadership dumped a load of $ on McKinsey consultants who have no clue how the business is run, prioritising short term benefit at the cost of long term deterioration. Also, invested a ton on the AI tool that is highly inaccurate, and the layoffs are the consequence of their bad decision making.

I have been approached with an opportunity at JP Morgan Chase for their private client advisor role. The book is about 30M all in. I am currently an experienced hybrid asset manager wholesaler and have experience in advising as well. Curious about the opportunity with JPM and if it’s worth it. I currently make about 160k and if JPM would give me a high draw for the first 3 years to build, and if it’s feasible to sustain that 160+ there.

My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.
