Depends on location and hours but yes, most phone rep roles at large banks/financial services pay around $19-22/hr.
These roles top off at 50k
Yep, Customer Service at my large financial service company is $46-48k + bonus.
Oh man…. I really wanna say no, but I also had a very low paying job as my entry point to MS. If you work hard you can transition to higher paying roles.. so while I don’t think the pay is great, if you’re in a low cost location and if you’re young with low expenses, go for it, get MS on that resume!
If you don’t mind pursuing your SIE, S7 and S66, look into Workplace Solutions Group, after you complete your licensures, you’ll make $65K, and still be on the phones.
Wait what?! I have been working there since June 2021. Grandfathered from last firm so I didn’t have to take SIE just the 7 top off. Was working strictly with MSAD accounts (not an IB rep thank god, already served my time doing that). Recently made a lateral move to complainant and resolution team. When I finally get all my entitlements I will be taking WSG complaints which is kind of annoying, I feel much more comfortable with individual retail accounts. Anyway started at 47k (had been unemployed for 2 and a half years, beggars can’t be choosers)….then got up to 50k after my annual review in January 2022. A couple months ago I guess they made a firm-wide decision that any licensed rep would get an additional 10k salary increase. Which I did not even notice as I make a large percentage contribution to my 401k And had a constant revolving door of managers so the increase was not even communicated to me. when I accepted the offer for the complaint role, I was told salary negotiation was as not even open for negotiation, my salary would be reviewed in January just like everyone else and based on my performance in the MSAD role. So Thats 60k I guess and I try to squeeze 5 hours overtime a week so idk maybe gross realistically I’m thinking 67k with the bonus. I guess I get paid quite handsomely for what I actually do, but I wish there was a path to make more. I am a top performer but I’m not very vocal about it, I don’t like to brag or even stick up for myself. I wish work was more meritocratic Y’know?! I am just on the cusp of a generational change of attitude…I feel like the younger workers do not give a single gle damn and are embracing this culture of “quiet quitting” in all honesty, I don’t blame them but I just can’t turn off this nagging feeling that I owe them some sort of loyalty and hard work (they are paying ma after all)
