Starting IVF, overwhelmed with the process. Preferred specialty pharmacy is cvs caremark for workplace benefits to apply. However their prices are so so high. Can y’all please share how much did you spend or typically expected to spend on IVF medication

Any tips or sources that are not heavy on pocket?

Don’t use CVS Caremark!! They’re my specialty pharmacy as well. My IVF doctor recommended another specialty pharmacy with cash rates that were much less expensive than CVS using insurance. Can you ask your doctor if there’s a specialty pharmacy they recommend?

Try checking if they can switch to cloud RX or Carelon pharmacy

Healy’s or village fertility pharmacy is another option

Tiny tip that I didn’t learn until my 3rd round - many of the medication vials are overfilled, so you may be able to squeeze some extra doses out of the meds you have. So for example, a 300 ml vial may actually contain 350 ml. Especially helpful if you go past the initial 10 day prescription.

If you want to utilize the pathways to parenthood fund for the medicine, you are required to use cvs specialty, unfortunately

Definitely shop around

Do tech companies like FAANG hire strategy consultants? Starting at an MBB/T2 next year and curious if tech companies leverage consultants as much as other industries. Part of me wonders if they are in such high growth right now that consultants can’t add as much value, thus maybe a smaller presence. Thoughts?

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

Currently a Solutions Consultant at Pegasystems.

I am interviewing at and considering making a jump to
Oracle as a Specialist Solutions Consultant.

The reason for my move is currently at Pega SCs are treated more as AEs or Account Managers. The role at Oracle would be more of a true SC position. I also feel that Oracle will look BETTER on a resume and someone as young as me would have BETTER programs in place to train me and give me the foundation needed to be a successful SC.

Thoughts?

Is genetic carrier screening prior to starting an ivf cycle necessary? I tested and found some disorders. Now my RE won’t start my cycle until my partner is tested. They are saying they will have to do special PGT tests if we are carriers of the same disorder. I am confused. I thought this type of testing was optional and usually recommended if you are using a donor. My guess is that they are booked and pushing me to the Jan cycle. Thoughts?

At the donor egg phase and just not dealing with it well. Having all kinds of regrets if I tried hard enough. Maybe should have ate better, tried all these different things. Did I do IVF too quickly? Some say IVF makes your eggs worse. Is this true???

Trying to have faith but my recent cycle netted 16 eggs, 8 fertilized and only 2 made it to day 5 for testing. There were 3 others that just didn’t mature. This is my third cycle and I’ve been pretty positive up until today. It’s especially hard to get this news in the middle of a work day. Just tired, still bloated and not feeling all that hopeful as we enter this LONG wait until we get the results next week. I hate feeling like this knowing my chances are getting slimmer by the day.

Has anyone switched labs for better lab quality/embryologist experience? Wondering if there is a significant difference between labs. We got poor results at our current clinic and, happens that our clinic is rated lower on SART website. Wondering if the lab quality is the reason or if the clinic handles complicated cases that lead to lower outcomes. Overall, unsure if we should switch clinics or just try again at the current one. Thanks.
