Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

Accenture is public and employees are treated as disposable numbers. The company seems to do whatever is necessary to help with quarterly reporting at the expense of employee well-being.

Disagree - the entire point of a partnership model is a carrot to keep people pushing. Consulting I don’t think really works as a public co - partner comp would likely be down. Raising public finance makes sense for asset/investment heavy businesses, which ours is not.
And it should be down. Aside from a handful of partners who are true rainmakers, a large majority are overpaid for what they bring in.
Depends on the partnership group, I think. We all care about the very long term, and to succeed we need good talent at staff level.
Feels like we have more flexibility to do that when we don't really need to hit any type of quarterly target

Depends on the firm. Find your wolfpack.
It’s all about margins. Consulting practices with 25-35% margin get treated well. Government consulting with 5-10% margin, not so much.
I’ve worked at public companies it can be ok until times get hard. It’s all about the stock value and hard times do not hit the upper levels. If you do not have a C or an Exec in your title it is sweating time.
Aon Hewitt - 20% pay cuts across the board for junior staff. I don’t like public companies.
I think the difference matters more at levels where you have revenue targets. The compensation widens significantly at MD/Partner. Margin becomes increasingly important at public companies and flexibility in margin relief is challenging when trying to Meet quarterly targets and earnings.
