Add animations and transitions. They really bring things to life!
Decorate it with flowers
If you add animations and you’re on my project. You are no longer on my project.
Check with your firm they have a default template, use it before you go creative.
Clip art is dope
Add a dash of lavender for a fresh smell.
Learn ThinkCell inside and out.
I just get hammered and don't even look through my slides and start rapping
Have an open mind and whatever you think maybe outlandish for a PPT slide in the past, in consulting nothings wrong .. just make sure you’re building a narrative/ story. Make sure every point you make or theme, is always connected some where in the deck. Ensure the deck flows like a thought process and don’t be wordy in your sentences.
Easy guidelines -
use pastel colors,
use buttons (a circle shape with a 1/2/3 or A/B/C for call outs).
ALWAYS make sure everything on the slide is aligned and not randomly put in a space.
Company template is given but not sufficient to make beautiful slide
EY has an awesome plug in for ppt... cant tell what firm you’re at, but if you’re at EY just do a discover search. Gives you tons of prebuilt options that would take up too much time to do on our own
Draw it first. Good ole pencil and paper. If it doesn’t look good / clear on paper, the bells and whistles won’t help.
That being said, I love color coding. So. Damn. Much.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Try to learn what the particular client/manager’s idea of beauty is and track that. Asking for previous client decks or what slides the manager thought hit it off with the client. Everyone is so different in slide preferences.
Lots of animations (flying arrows, dissolving pictures,...)..and use a picture of clippy on every divider page. He's a fan favorite!
You can also use some audio to make the slide transitions really pop - try the swoosh sound.
Can you find previous decks you like from your company and model it off those? Work with your creative team to get creative templates.
Creative team is not available for me. I think its SM and above only
Ask for previous client decks from colleagues? If it’s a specific type of project maybe ask experts for previous decks?
Any plugin or elearning you all recommend?
Call me crazy but decks are about content and not looks. Find good content and articulate what you are trying to portray. Looks will follow.
