Struggle is real

If you take vacation, is the onus on you to make up that billable time? If so, how do you enjoy long vacations?

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

I haven’t done caselaw research since 1L and this isn’t even my practice… wtf do I do (I am fully utilized in my normal work and have a few deals closing soon…)

Has anyone moved away from NY and successfully resigned from the NY bar? What are the consequences if you just don’t pay? The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. Is there someone I can pay to do it? Should I just pay the $375 to stay active to avoid this nightmare?

How would you define great communication?

I’m not sure what I’m looking for in this post, but I feel I just need to get stuff off my chest. I’m a new attorney, my first job is as an ADA in a large county in a rural comm. I slightly dropped my MacBook and apparently (slightly) damaged the keyboard and trackpad as per service Center. I don’t see any visible damage to the system but that’s what they say and are charging me about 28k for this even though my system is in warranty period (will complete a year in a few days). Are there any workaround for this? Like I can use external keyboard or maybe negotiate, anything else?

a few weeks ago we had a super busy day with scripts and i think i went into ‘autopilot’ because i don’t remember it happening, but i handed out the wrong prescription to someone (before you get mad, i only started a few weeks ago and i’m a junior assistant), out of all people i could’ve given the wrong medication to, it was a blind person. i have severe anxiety already and want to know some tactics to go back to work without guilt? i take guilt very heavy and struggle to get past it all
