I already have the SHRM-SCP. . would it be a value add to go for the SPHR as well?

It definitely wouldn’t hurt. It wouldn’t be a huge value add but some companies (with often smaller HR teams) do value the PHR/SPHR more.

HR Director here, Southern California. SHRM certs are a joke among most higher tiered HR Professionals.

Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. I’ve been offered two positions that are great and on the human capital team. For someone in this situation where should I be looking as commensurate with my certifications and experience?

I’m currently working with a senior level HR candidate. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality. I’m curious is anyone else having difficulties play some candidates like this? At this point I’m starting to think it’s racial or her sex based of the lack of interest in this candidate. Any thoughts?

I signed up for the SHRM CP exam. Anyone have fairly recent materials they’d be open to selling or sharing? Would love to not pay 700-1000 on access to the learning portal or a class. With my masters, I can’t get EY to cover the certification but it’s something I wanted to do this year.

Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?

How risky is it to ask your client about applying for a job there? Sr client is hiring aggressively and has even hinted to my teammate that they would hire the person. However that teammate works very closely with Sr Client and I don’t (I have before but not since early summer).

Our clients company overall is also notorious for poaching our staff (at least 3 transition there every week). Has anyone ever tried it?

When you’re interviewing for a new job, how do you balance sharing your professional experience against the sensitivity of items that HR handles? If the interviewer didn’t know my current company it would feel different, but since they do know I’m concerned about “over sharing” - ex. saying attrition is a problem at anonymous company and this is how we’re addressing it feels different than saying attrition is a problem at X company. Does that make sense? Am I over thinking this?
