You should speak with your doctor asap. That sounds very distressing and can undo any good the meds are doing for you. Especially if you dread going to sleep! I hope things stabilize for you.
I definitely will. Thank you for the suggestion!
Dreams are powerful messages from our subconscious. Just today I talked to my therapist about a dream I’d had and I am still unraveling the layers. Writing about your dreams can be very helpful too
I’m on Zoloft and Wellbutrin too, I’ve always had vivid dreams though so I don’t think it’s the medication but it could be different for everyone. Also, these are some pretty stressful times. Maybe try to avoid the news for a bit?
I try not to look at the news too late into the day or I find myself just obsessing over it late into the night haha
I always had extremely vivid dreams on Zoloft, fwiw. The dreams didn’t stop until I stopped the med (after about 6 years). But if this is a new thing and the meds aren’t new, maybe it’s stress related. Definitely talk to your doc.
I am not on any medications, but I have experienced vivid dreams as I have been self isolating. Previous posters all had good notes. I also remind you that you are experiencing changes in your life, how you are interact with people, how you are being stimulated mind, body, soul. You may also be experiencing heightened emotions from self isolating, BLM and add in the fact that nothing is the old normal we are used to. Your subconscious is processing all of this and that is a good thing. Some days your dreams will be more vivid than others. I personally am huge into dream analysis and I learn a lot about myself and what my subconscious is helping me process. others are not into it and that is totally cool too. The important thing is you are recognizing it and looking for answers on what triggered this change. It sounds like you have been talking with professionals and while it sounds like they are not concerned for an immediate danger for you. However if you feel differently please seek help. In the meantime if they still weigh heavy in your mind talk with someone you trust be it a professional a friend or a family member . Talk to your pet about it if you want. Voice them out loud and if you want to learn more treat it the same way you would a problem at work. State the issue, research purpose possible solutions decide a route to take and course correct if needed.
AS you make wonderful points. I may look into dream analysis, as some others have mentioned that too. Your response is comforting in a way, thanks for the advice!
I was on Zoloft as a young adult and it triggered suicidal ideation and an attempt. If your antidepressants feel off talk to your doctor immediately.
Fortunately I don’t feel suicidal. Just bad dreams. Thanks for the tip though I will be watching out for any off feelings.
I do meditation before bed. I don’t live alone and in a stable job situation. I exercise a few days a week. No clue how to make the nightmares stop.
