Whatever the school provides or whatever the students have. I'm done buying school supplies for my students when the district has cut my income by more than half.
Pro
We get a budgeted amount to get supplies for our class
I honestly hate the yellow #2 pencils! I refuse to buy them! They print heavily and then the kids have a horrible time erasing…they leave streaks on the paper, they don’t erase the whole way, the paper rips. The cheap, decorative pencils work so much better and the kids love them!
Pro
Or they erase so hard it tears the paper🥲
I’m a Ticonderoga girl all the way. Home Depot pencils lose the lead when you sharpen them, generic pencils constantly won’t sharpen, and drug store pencils break all the time. I have not noticed what you have with Ticonderoga pencils, so I’m still all in. I teach 6th grade, so students can use any pencil they want. I’m not a huge fan of mechanical pencils. They break on me all the time.

Usually, our admin brings us some pencils and pens. Some companies also donate supplies to our school. I am fortunate in the fact that our district provides a budget to our Belated Arts for some supplies.

I buy the Amazon presharpened box of 144.

I will look those up. Ty!
As for students, I walk around the school at the end if the day and pick up pencils. Last year, I did not have to buy a single one nor get any of the cheapies from the school. 😁
I like to treat myself, so I use the Blick Premier Mechanical Pencil and .5 lead. For a pen, I use nothing but fountain pens because I love how smoothly they write and how distinctive the ink looks on paper. Several students have now followed suit and use fountain pens; we discuss what we like about certain ones and inks we like. 😎

I love mechanical pencils❤️
