Thank you Governor Whitmer!

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will propose spending $2.3 billion over four years to recruit and retain teachers and other school staff.

Starting in the fall, all full-time returning K-12 public employees will get $2,000 bonus, with part-timers receiving less based on hours worked. They would get an additional $2,000 in 2023. Teachers and other certified staff like counselors would qualify for $3,000 in 2024 and $4,000 in 2025.

But, does this count as our annual income so it might impact retirement?

I certainly hope so! Either way, I’m happy for those who are still working and get this. I’m really pleased with Whitmer. I think she’s a great Governor and want to work on her re-election campaign.

Hi Fishes,

I received an offer (28 Lakhs + 3.9 Lakhs incentive) from Novartis for Sr Project Manager yesterday. This was just 13.6% more than my current earnings as Project Manager. I've given the reasons why I deserve at least 30% to HR. In response to that, HR has sent 2nd offer i.e. 29 Lakhs + 4 Lakhs incentive + 50k sign-on bonus. The 2nd offer is just 18.2% higher than my current earnings. Need your suggestion, if I could still negotiate with HR to finalize deal by asking for 25% hike?
