The best part of starting a new job is meeting new people who start as colleagues but soon become friends. You share laughs, support each other, and make it through the day as a team. I really appreciate those coworkers who step in to help without hesitation. They make the workday easier, time passes quickly, and you actually look forward to seeing them again the next day. It’s a great feeling to build those kinds of connections in a new place.

It's definitely a plus. The downside is the people you meet who you know from day one will never be your friends. I've got a handful of that type at this job and dread working with them.

True, not everyone gives off the same vibe. There are a few in my group too that I feel I won’t really click with or build a strong rapport with. It just happens sometimes, and that’s okay.

I've got friends I made at previous jobs, we had kind of the same sense of humor so we just hit it off. So there's always the possibility that in any job you'll meet a good friend. Though, to be honest, in most cases I'm friendly with coworkers, but we're not really friends. But that's fine, it helps time pass at work without anything being too serious.

You’re right about that. For now, they’re a real support, helping ease the stress of a new job and making the day go by faster. It’s nice to have people like that around when everything feels overwhelming.

Absolutely. Those genuine connections turn a job from just work into something you actually want to be part of. It’s the little moments of teamwork and support that make all the difference.

Being from Minnesota, I think it's so funny when people act as if we are some far-left State just because we hadn't voted Republican in a presidential election since Nixon. Never mind that many of our elections are close or that we have elected Republican Senators and governors.

I have voted for both the GOP and the DFL, and I feel like they are both far more normal than their national counterparts

Is anyone interested in taking over the lease for a top floor 3 bed 2 bath, 1500 SQ ft apartment in a newly built complex in Plaza Midwood? The lease runs through Sept 2023. It's one of the nicest complexes in the city, has close proximity to Uptown, and has excellent amenities (e.g. CrossFit style gym, two pools, dog park, on site complimentary cafe, etc.). My unit has an ideal layout for work from home and a huge patio.

Edit: $3,196/mo including valet trash pickup ($35) and pest control ($4)

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

Hi how much does a florist get paid per hour? Thanks

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
