Tier 2 MBA colleges and growth dilemma

At most companies your CTC is decided based on which tier your college is classified under. Most of the times even with a really high experience and stellar performance you won’t be able to match CTCs of freshers from Tier 1 colleges.

How do you solve for similar work profiles for Tier 1 and 2 grads but lower pays for Tier 2 grads?

Any rough estimates on current rfe timelines? Regular processing at Vermont Service Center. RFE response was filed March 18. Want to try to get a sense of when to expect a decision.

I’m getting dinged in interviews because I haven’t seen a product through end to end implementation, I primarily work on the early stages and then hand off. I’ve been trying to shadow and volunteer on implementation side...any other tips? Background is 2.5 years in product strategy, 2 years corporate strategy, 3 years in marketing.

For those who moved from a client serving role to an internal role in public accounting while at a fairly high level (experienced manager or senior manager), did you take a pay cut or does your pay stay flat when you transition with minimal increases in subsequent years? Also what role are you in now? I really like EY and the company. I’d like to look at moving to an internal role but I’m worried I’ve priced myself out (currently at around 140k comp in LCOL).

Would you stay living in a city you like but have very few friends there, or move back to your hometown where most of your friends and family are? My current city has a population of about 500k and my hometown is about 100k. My main reason to move away from my hometown was dating and jobs, but neither seem to be going any better over the past 2 years. COL is about 28% higher than my hometown and jobs don’t pay much better.

A year ago I moved to an HCOL area to accept a new position, however, I do not go into the office daily. I just go whenever my team needs to be in office. Was wondering has anyone moved out of an HCOL area to save money on rent and was it frowned upon when your firm found out?
