Thinking of a move from LA. How’s the freelance CD/CW scene in Denver/Boulder? Lots of senior “competition” or enough work to go around? Who are some “name” FL’ers I might contact for insight? Thx!😁

Lots of freelance writers here. Many have been in the market a while, so have built-in connections. You’d probably need to rely on your LA connections before the work hits locally. Also there’s basically no opportunities to be a freelance CD from what I understand. Denver is an okay freelance market, but nothing compared to the west coast.

I moved from Denver/Boulder to LA. I bounced around for a few years. I wouldn’t rely on local connections for work. You could score some brand/in house, but rarely did I work at an agency that actually hired freelancers. Most of my freelance gigs were remote, which would have sustained things had I pushed it.

Ditto for these 2. High level work comes from the coasts.

Probably lots of former CPBers freelancing around there?

Few, if any, opportunities for senior level creatives. That goes for freelance and full time. Agencies don’t have the budget or interest in having experienced creatives on-hand. The market here is a far cry from LA and NY.

Its sleepy here. Hype around the market, but not founded.

👍🏻 sigh...thanks.

Is CPB even a thing anymore?
