Vestibular? I’ve seen this before post ictal in my emerge clinic. Did the dog have seizure history? Was he rolling over by choice or did it seem like he was just being pulled and couldn’t stop?
I know of no seizure history, but it did seem like he was being pulled. I've never experienced that before. Should I reach out with a different suggestion?
Was it a full 360 rolling around or like a scratching rolling around? I've seen many pets with allergic dermatitis who can't help but rub and scratch repeatedly on the ground? But this sounds like something different...
Ummm that has me stumped, maybe itchy, scratchy, no skin rashes? But that would be more like rubbing. Other than that not sure.
Yes, you did the right thing. I once had a similar experience with a dog exhibiting odd behavior, rolling around for hours and not stopping. The first few tests were also normal, but it turned out to be an ear infection. I'd check the dog's ears and see if it's causing any discomfort. Talk to the vet to see if there are any other possibilities.
