Those of us that are overemployed belong to a secret society about which is not discussed. Although we should not openly talk about our situation, being able to vent or share tips may be helpful.

How would you find fellow overemployeds? Should there be a secret handshake or hand signal?

Ye shall know me by the bags under my eyes and my unremitting propensity for yawning. Seriously, it would be interesting if we had a guild hall of sorts to swap stories, but I don't know if it would be all that useful in the end. All of our situations are so different. I mean, even some of my jobs are different. If I explained to someone all that I do they would be skeptical that one person was doing those things. Weird, I know.

Even if we didn't understand, at least you know that you are not alone! Stay weird!

I have told some of my friends that I am working multiple jobs

No, but they are pretty impressed/shocked lol

The first rule of overemployment is dont talk about overemployment to anyone outside your house. :). Second: always protect the main job. Third: As the main job always has the priority, the Second and third jobs must preferably be contract gigs with not too many meetings everyday. Remember: another day, another dollar.

How difficult is it to juggle a remote role with a hybrid role?

My current role is hybrid with at least two days a week in office. However, with the potential economic downturn, I'm considering holding on to the role to supplement my income.

I'm new to the overemployed movement, so I'm evaluating the feasibility of holding onto the hybrid role and the remote position.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?
