Nah, you have to do that so everyone else feels left out.
That last part is just a weird take
I haven’t. Been in this industry 20 years and none of my outside friends are people I met from work.
I’ve a different perspective, though obviously there’s no one right way to do it.
If you’ve been let go, you probably don’t have a chance to say individual goodbyes and appreciations. So I think it’s totally fine for your email to be whatever you want it to be (except dumb…that’s just dumb).
I once emailed everyone the “farewell letter” that Andy Dufrensce sent Red in “Shawshank Redemption.”
Oh, I don’t think you name anyone specifically. Just make vague references (“you know who you are”) and hint at borderline libelous accusations (“three words: holiday. party. hands.”) that people will either assume are about them or have suspicions about who is being referenced. Leave chaos in your wake as they all try to figure it out.
If you cared that much you'd send gifts
Goodbyes are not forever; they simply mean I'll miss you until we meet again!
It was a good/unforgettable run/ride/experience.
