Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Have a 4 round loop interview for Sr. Product Manager at Amazon coming up through the MBA pathways program soon.
If I land it the trajectory of my life and that of my family changes but I'm starting to feel the pressure. I haven't had a lot of traction for job searching since I graduated in December so this is the best lead I have and I'm getting scared now.

The short answer is to move as soon as you're able to, which is usually ~2 years in right after promotion to manager. Title will almost certainly be Associate or Sr. Associate on the food teams. You might get VP at a lower middle market fund.
Moving 3-5+ years after MBB is really hard as you are too senior for an entry level job but too junior for a mid level job.
The next "opening" is 6-10 years after MBB as a Partner with expertise in some industry or function. Entry level would be Principal / Director (but not MD or Partner by any means). These roles are super scarce and you have to be lucky that there's a fund looking for exactly your profile.
The later you do the transition the harder it is. After 3-4 years in consulting I'd argue you start getting very bad "consultant" habits that don't translate well to real operational work.
I left EYP at the manager level, spent 3+ years as an executive at a portco and then made the switch at the experienced VP level
For reference I’m going to a LMM / MM fund so it may be much different if you’re targeting a MF
