How is the hike and bonus guys
Hii Guys, Could anyone give me some clarity on the below point. I have cleared 2nd round of technical interview at Deloitte, but my candidature is still showing as interview in progress at Deloitte careers page. I had a discussion with HR on this and she told me that next process is pending from management side. It's been almost 10 days since from 2 nd round of interview. How much more time does it gonna take, any idea? Or is it normal. Please help me with this 🙏🙏 .Deloitte

That’s a tough one. Houston is not a walkable city at all. The train system covers nothing and the buses are okayish.
You’ll have to either eventually get a car or rely on Uber/Lyft.
Correct. Even the dedicated bike lanes are horrible. Learned that oddly when I was on a rented scooter when a friend was here a few months ago. Some streets need improved lighting too.

I know several people who do this. My one friend from London he lives in the galleria and commutes to Westchase, yes he relies on Uber. Not sure how he manages that but that's his lifestyle. he's 43 and he dates a lot of women so it must be working for him. Might be the accent.
My neighbors in Hyde Park are married, both from Europe, both PhD students at Rice, they bike exclusively. As an experienced city-biker myself I think Houston did a really good job connecting between Montrose and the Rice area with the string of bridges over 59/69, so I can see this working really well for them. If you're a biker give that ride down Mandell from Welch to Sunset a try, you won't believe how peaceful the traffic is. HEB is on Dunlavy so it's right on the way home for them.
I personally DON'T live this way in fact I recently bought a SECOND car 🤣 however, I certainly call myself a member of this camp. As a transplant, I specifically targeted the Montrose area so that I would have easy access to all the happenings downtown. My evening and weekend mode of transport is a HiBoy S2 Pro. In addition to having a blast, I save a lot of time and gas, but at the risk of getting WRECKED by either the chaotic intersections, or by broken concrete in the roads and sidewalks.
Being successful on these roads requires the physical skill of a tech mountain biker and street smarts of a tow truck driver. Houston is the opposite of a paradise for people who want a walkable urban lifestyle. Really not gonna cap for Houston, even in the loop. IMO your best bet is to live in Montrose and commute downtown or to the med center, and it's still suicide. And don't let anyone tell you the Heights is bikable unless you never have to leave the 610/45/10 loop that encompasses it, yeah yeah MKT yawn.

Busses are good and work. Can text the stop to see when they’ll be there and Apple Maps well integrated. Easier inside the loop for sure.
How do I manage to get around?
I don't.
I can't even begin to fathom not having a car in this city. Even with a car, transportation is a pain due to everything just being so far away. No car and I'd never leave the house.
