gfs do not qualify for h4 ead
I obviously get that... but at some point she'll be a spouse... so under that pretext.
I don’t know if the rule has changed in recent years but EY only started my PERM process about five months before my 4-year work anniversary (would have been five without a masters). My PD was about 6 months out from the start date, and my I140 was approved about 15 months out from the start date. For experienced hires it may be different esp if you’re about to run out of H1B years, but overall EY likes to start the process when they have to because the firm wants enough time to tell if the person has “long term potential”. Definitely talk to your people consultant and V&I folks, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high since you just started 3 months ago
Given the timelines, any chance the PERM process could be start sooner vs waiting till June 2021, at which point I would complete a year and then another year till June 2022... so anyone at EY who was able to get their app in earlier, would like to connect
It takes two full years for EY to complete the process, mine started in September 2019. They just filed my perm last week. Assuming the best case scenario, it takes another 4 months for PERM and another 1 month for EY law to prep for i140. If you do file i140 in premium it takes two weeks, else another 6 months for i140 approval. EY does things extremely slowly. I suggest you start sooner, as in right now! Do talk to your V&I consultant about your case and if possible a partners support also helps. Maybe they can start early if the partner supports you.
Thank you EY1 and EY2. As a follow up question, does the location matter? Right now I am based in NYC as home office but I am thinking of relocating to a LCOL city. Should I decide my city first before commencing the GC process?
Yes please decide your location before starting the GC process. Usually EY doesn’t allow moving once the GC process has started, unless you have personal reasons like your spouse stays in the other city etc.
I think location matters. Logically speaking if you live in a city like NYC or Chicago there’s more competition which might lead to a difficult recruitment process. I’ve had a friend in the SAP practice from a big city whose recruitment failed once or twice. Smaller cities have less population so less competition. Again, this is only my reasoning. I could be wrong!
Which are the best small cities?
Yes that’s what I did before they started the PERM - move to a place where I don’t mind living for a couple of years. Even if your country doesn’t have a backlog it is still a process that will take ~2 years. They make it pretty clear that the PERM is location and job specific. a location change will def require a new PERM.
