To piggyback off of a different conversation, can a person contact a previous employer to find out if you're in rehire status?

They can, but most employers will only confirm active dates to avoid litigation.

I've never tried but I don't think it could hurt as long as you are polite about how you ask. Let us know how it goes if you do!

like

Yes they can. They can usually ask what were the dates you worked there and if you are eligible to be rehired or not.

Hi! Anybody knows of federal agencies hiring that are offering fulltime telework/remote?
I currently work for an agency based in DC and my boss is forcing us to come back into the office fulltime after we’ve been remote for nearly two years. Majority of my coworkers have already left for the private sector but I’d like to remain in the public.

I live in studio, high-rise building. This is my second highest electricity bill. I work from home (computer usually on all day, occasional TV & microwave use, living room & bathroom lights when needed).

If you live in an apartment/studio mainly - does your bill breakdown the same way with a base price, usage price & tax?

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. I have been supervising and managing our team of 6 for months with no extra pay or bonuses. I was told yesterday that raises will be light this year. Yet today they spare nothing.
