Don't get me wrong, stuff like this drives me nuts. Unfortunately, this is what passes for an excuse these days. I think we're reaping the rewards of over a decade at a minimum of "put yourself first" this and "mental health" that. All these people on social media being glorified for doing the bare minimum (if that) at work and experiencing no negative consequences, not to mention the memes saying "If you can't, you CAN'T, and that's that," have paved the way for this sort of behavior that we're all just supposed to accept. I agree it's ridiculous, but it's the state of our culture right now.

I hate group projects. You always have someone who doesn't pull their fair weight, and I am too much of a perfectionist not to want to correct everything. I am also a procrastinator so I often wait until the last minute--something you can't do with a group. I also, one time, was the one who didn't do as much because I was dealing with cancer, and the teacher wanted to give me a failing grade. I guess we all need to learn to work together, but it is tough. I had one online class where the group members were actually in different countries and time zones.
And nobody else is stressed? Smh
One time in my Masters I got placed in a group with someone who was notorious for not contributing so we divided up the parts of the project and literally each signed next to the part we were going to be responsible for. That way, when their part was not complete, we had documentation. Of course we had kept our Professor aware of everything- they were fully on board. It actually gave them part of the documentation they needed as well for support for failing the student and their removal from the program. 🤷♀️ I'm not paying 10's of thousands of dollars for someone else to ride their way to a degree on my work. 🎤
I think it should be a post on its own, group projects pro and con. I can tell you this Group project con far outweighs the pro by a factor of 1.47X10^32 to 1.
