You didn’t fail, they failed you by not being transparent. I would either try to set myself up for success where they didn’t, or send those resumes out again.
You're so right. They failed, and I need to reframe my thinking to cull the anxiety I consistently feel. The whole process with them was worse than a start up!
So decided to start looking. I got some Intel from a trusted source and things have continued to be revealed to me and its time to go. Had I not so many responsibilities, I'd resign now. I'm even open to temp work until a long term role comes.
No work life balance AT ALL. This was not described as a 24/7 role. No training but expected to basically, figure it out. You ask a question to help get answers to things you need to know to help do your job and are directed to ask someone else. Sad feeling. Money is good but dang! There were some "red flags" but I overlooked them now that I sit to think on things.
Conduct a root cause analysis of your exact issues by itemizing each one and how they relate. Once you get to the bottom of it - determine if it’s things that can be fixed (either in your control or someone else’s control) and if it’s worth it to have a difficult yet constructive conversation with your leaders.
Even if it isn’t worth it and you plan to leave, figure out what you need to make the job bearable even if just until you can find an even better opportunity.
This is Incredibly helpful. I'll actually do just that and work toward analyzing what I'm feeling and what the causes may be. I appreciate your advice!
