"put in your two weeks" by letting the people you work with know you are leaving, but you don't have to formally declare you are leaving via ToD if you don't want to (until you are imminitely leaving)
If it’s a big shop they will hopefully not pull your offer in two weeks. Yes there are hiring freezes around, but what are the odds of a new freeze hitting your prospective company in the next two weeks? I’d bet the odds are low. Not that I’m a betting person.
C1, a listed fintech is not stable if its valuation is compressing. Don’t conflate listed in S&P with size if its size is shrinking. Lastly, don’t tell me what to do.
If they would pull a formal offer during the notice period they would fire you on day 1. If you don’t trust them, don’t take the offer.
But don’t do anything until you have the official signed paperwork. It certainly happens that someone makes the offer without authority and the higher ups refuse to honor it.
Even signed offers can get rescinded. It’s a bit of a gamble. Happened to my spring cohort one year but it was a local firm (not a national one). The larger the firm, the lower the risk (though not non-existent). You have to have to weigh likelihood of rescinded offer against fallout from burning a bridge.
It’s not much of a gamble, because it’s so rare. It’s even more rare in this economy where the labor market is so tight and talent is hard to find
Are both jobs remote? Maybe work until the next job starts, then give notice on day 1 of new job.
There is a difference between offers that are made nine months out and they ones that are made two weeks out.
Which is not to say that pulling offers from new joiners out of college is not horrid it itself. Those companies likely they decided to either rescind offers or layoff current staff.
Dude wait, you’re leaving before finding another job?
