Twilio Segment just completed another round of layoffs with Solution Architects, Success Engineers and a newly hired RVP among the many. Unfortunately, sales deals have slowed to a near stop and the goal of breaking even for Segment within the next 2 years will be impossible without additional cuts and moving the Professional Services organization to lower paying jobs in Columbia. Adobe, Hightouch, Rudderstack and MParticle have made inroads and continue to outpace Segment on the growth side.

I’m up for a promotion at work and I have no idea how much to ask for since it’s not a standard position. Currently I’m a team lead and manage about 8 technicians, my promotion will be to a regional service delivery manager, and I will be managing over 30 in 3 locations. I went from a tier 1 engineer in managed servers to team lead with about a 10k increase in salary.I’m thinking about a 15k increase this time from 65k to 80k. Anybody in managed services have a similar position to compare

I work with someone who always makes subtle digs at my code. Like they’ll say good job… and then they’ll say there’s space to refactor/improve code quality and we can handle that later. I get that you can always improve code but it’s so irritating. Any advice?

-Similar position to now, better progression.

Role 2.
-95k base, 16% bonus, good benefits.
-National grocery chain.
-Slightly different role: more admin / training others / governance / custom coding connectors, etc.
