Tx state court question. If plaintiff filed their response to msj out of time will the court still consider it? Response was due Friday but filed today. Hearing is tomorrow. Plaintiff is pro se. Also what to expect at the hearing? I’m not normally in state court so appreciate any response.

They will consider it, in practice (especially bc pro se). You should def argue that any evidence from their response should not be considered in the record, but nonetheless highlight why you should win anyway.

Perfect. Thanks for the response!

In my experience, state courts are pretty lenient with this, unless the party is a repeat violator or otherwise on the judge’s bad side. Definitely plan to argue the merits of your motion and to address substantive points in the response.

I would really appreciated if someone can help point me to that direction.

I’m a 4th-year at a midsize firm doing mostly oil and gas work, but I’m looking to change practice areas so I can get away from a dying/morally problematic industry and move into EC/VC, Corporate, tech transactions, and/or privacy and cybersecurity (have CIPP/US & /E). I’m not having much luck with recruiters or applying directly to firms and companies, so I’m thinking of hiring a career coach to help me hone my applications, cover letters, etc. Any suggestions?
