I am product designer with a fair amount of experience (6yrs).

Recently was interviewed for a Sr. role in Booking but unfortunately, the team finds me better suited as a core individual contributor.

I am also in the advanced stages of some lead designer positions in other companies.

What should be my reasons to accept or not accept the offer from booking?

I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I wasn’t sure which bowl to solicit advice from so hoping to catch a bite here. I’m currently in ID. Of course, I want OUT! My interests are L&E and corporate. My options are 1) wait it out where I am in hopes to switch to L&E or 2) in house oil and gas industry transactional work. What would you do and why? Looking at litigation boutiques in Dallas and Houston and there’s a lot of chatter about LPHS—anyone have any experience with them?

Thinking about lateraling to Dallas as a PE M&A third year associate from NYC. Which firm do larger deals? Public M&A? KE, Sidley, Gibson, or VE? Can you survive at any of the firms doing 2000 hours?

What do you think of the LSAT decision? Personally I think it might be a little unfair to suddenly abolish it when hundreds of thousands of students have had to take it over the last few years and beyond. But I get that it's expensive. Anyways, good idea or bad idea?

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Thus far, he’s landed interviews with (all in Houston): Baker Botts, Sidley Austin, Kirkland, Winston Strawn, Reed Smith, Norton Rose, and Locke Lord. Also Perkins Coie in Dallas. He’s leaning transactional, but also open to litigation. Any insights/advice on these firms in the TX market? Any to avoid?
