I would love to have an 8 team playoff. When we talk about that though, we also have to talk about paying players... extra games and all.
Maybe ucf's of the world shouldn't schedule high schools as their nonn conference games? Ucf knows the uphill battle. It's on them to adjust
Yeah, but they schedule way far in advance,, so that’s a bit of a weak argument. I hear you though.
But what about Dartmouth
Oliver Wyman 1... did you read that horseshit on facebook news feed and decide to just repeat it because you literally have no idea what you are taking about. Their non conference schedule the last five years is below and almost every game they schedule up is a road game. Includes games vs Michigan, Ohio state, South Carolina, Stanford, Penn State, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri. We had Texas for a home and home and they pulled out last year after we went undefeated because they didn’t want to take the risk. So please keep spouting your useless information. I hope you dig deeper for your clients than you do for your college football
2018: ACC, ACC, FCS
2017: ACC, ACC, FCS
2016: Big-10, ACC, FCS
2015: PAC-10, SEC, FCS
2014: Big-10, SEC, Mountain West
There is just so much noise and spin that the media plays up and then all of these college football fans come out to the woodwork to trash UCF, and most of them have literally never watched a single game they play let alone actually look into anything they are talking about. UCF is built and plays very similar to the Big-12 teams and would probably be a really good fit there if they expand.
The PAC-10 and ACC are not far and away better than the AAC except for our worst teams in each. AAC bad teams are really bad. The teams at the top of the AAC are all pretty good and play/beat non conference teams from P5 conference on a regular basis when we get them on schedule. At the very least you can’t say that this host of games wouldn’t be fun and interesting to see how they play out vs what we are going to get here in a month...
UCF. Thank you for playing.
I think we all knew UCF wouldn’t get in what amazes me is that if there was an eight team playoff we would barely sneak in as the last seed
Path is for the big-12 to actually have 12 teams and to bring ucf up to get into Florida tv market etx. Otherwise it is quite clear with the final rankings that there is no magical scheduling process that would gain us access
There is no path
Why? Best argument I have heard is SOS. Big implications though if it’s effectively impossible for a G5 to make it.
Maybe if all power 5 conference teams had 2 losses and UCF killed everyone in their schedule. It’s not just the SOS, but I’m willing to bet that the playoff committee would be concerned about revenue implications
True. My concern though is if g5 never “really” has a path, what does that mean for FBS as a whole? Should P5 split into a new category? Should G5 have it own playoff?
Probably. Or playoff expansion with the winners of each conference plus a few others based on ranking
Or, talk about removing conference title games.
No
What about them?
They are undefeated....
I actually had no idea.
I love it. let the hate flow
