I work as an AGM in a busy restaurant. Been working there for just over a year, and haven't had a single raise. I now only make 0.50 cents more than even the lowest paid shift lead but I am doing a lot more work. I'm no longer satisfied with these conditions. Should I try to negotiate a raise or look for other opportunities?

When I was a device driver developer with 2 years relevant experience I had got calls from Nvidia and Qualcomm. Unfortunately I wasn't able to crack the interviews back then.

For next 5 years I worked mostly on application development and broadening my exposure. I am not getting even a single call from such companies now.

Is it a good idea to rebrand myself as a device driver developer so that I can get calls again?

So, recently got phished while staying at Marriott Peachtree Hotel in ATL. Received call to my room at 12:30 am from the “GM” who knew my name (and room number obviously). Fed up of R&D tax, it has become so mundane. I like something which is constantly challenging and learning new stuff. I like reading these case laws and stuff, I also like when we do the data analysis using alteryx, but done with R&D. Any suggestions on what might be a good role for me?
