I can in no way see Walmart pulling back on self service so they can hire more workers.
Did you know that studies estimate that low wages at Walmart cost taxpayers roughly billions per year in public assistance, including SNAP, Medicaid, and subsidized housing. Walmart is one of the Biggest corporate welfare kings
Hi everyone,
I’m currently exploring new opportunities and would appreciate any leads or referrals. I have strong experience as a Salesforce Product Owner / Business Analyst / Senior Salesforce Administrator, supporting CRM implementations and Salesforce platform delivery.
I’m open to full-time or contract roles, remote or hybrid. I’m a U.S. citizen and can work without sponsorship. Happy to share my resume via DM.
Thank you!
this is 100% about shrink and not about jobs

It is always wild to me to walk into stores and see maybe 1-2 isles open. I feel for all those people who’ve lost their jobs or had their hours reduced but that’s exactly what technology does for these companies - cut out the lower wage workers.
I'm kind of disappointed to see this, to be honest. I prefer self-checkout because the lines usually aren't as long. But I guess it's good because more people will have jobs.
Self checkouts were never about convenience. CVS went to self checkouts as a cost offset because city councils began banning them from selling cigarettes because they had pharmacy's in their stores.
Don’t think this will add jobs unfortunately, and it’s only for select stores where it sounds like theft and maintenance costs are too high to maintain. It will just cause more work for exiting staff and longer wait time for customers.
Self checkout is possibly the best invention ever. It's faster, I can bag my items the way I like, and no one makes silly commentary on my purchases.
