We were joking today that AI could probably analyse our incident reports faster than we ever could. Then someone said “yes but would you trust it?” That question stuck with me. Would you trust AI to support patient safety decisions?

I wouldn’t. I have seen reports that it is only accurate about 70% of the time. Perhaps as a compromise it could be used as a first pass with a human review after but I also wouldn’t trust it to keep patient information private and secure.

I feel the same. I would be comfortable using it as a first pass, but not as a final decision maker. Human judgement still needs to sit at the centre.

It's already happening. And unlike humans, there are no consequences to the creators for negligence when they cut corners developing the software. AI can be a great aid, but should only ever be an aid to humans, not a replacement.

I agree with that balance. I see AI as a support tool, not something that replaces accountability. The responsibility still has to stay with clinicians.

Not me. Not yet, anyway. There are just way too many unknowns. I wouldn't personally be comfortable with AI dictating MY treatment regiment, so I couldn't in good conscience have it do so for someone else.

I understand that hesitation. I would not trust it fully either. Until there is more transparency and reliability, I would only use it alongside clinical judgement.

Hi Fishes,

I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)? Happy to connect in DMs as well
