I can’t imagine not checking! So many things could come up
Same! I check every day, just in case something important pops off!
Im checking 2-3/wk because I’m waiting for information about a position opening up. Even with email notifications/previews I still miss some.
I check 2-3 times a day during the year. But summer I check once a week at most. I get paid for 187 days not 365.
Once a week. I put up an out-of-school auto reply so people know I am not ignoring them, but I have drawn that boundary for myself know to spend the summer on things that are important to me that do not necessarily have to do with teaching. It makes me a calmer, more balanced person to NOT work when I don’t need to.
I can proudly say I've made it one week without checking my work email, and don't plan on checking it at all while I'm on vacation this coming week
Well, I broke my streak last night, and checked my school email! I wanted to see if we had a notice about our new Vice Principal yet. I have two friends who have interviewed, but no notification yet.
Typically, to receive important school/district businessI checked the last day of school. Now that summer school has started, I will check once a day during summer school (focusing on summer school info) and then not again until the first day teachers return for the new school year. If I'm feeling like going above and beyond, I will check the night before my first day back. I rarely check work email when I'm not at work. During the day I check in the morning and then again during my scheduled "write and respond to email time" in the afternoon.
