Does it do anything for your book that your more recent work can’t? Does it show range or a unique skill set, is it an interesting output or medium, does it have awards? If no, probably time to let it go.
I just updated my portfolio and let go of a few old pieces and revamped a couple I’m keeping. I had a habit of including extra spec ideas that hadn’t been made at the bottom of projects to show my thinking as a junior, but that doesn’t serve me 8+ years in. So I removed those from my older work and it looks much more professional and on par with my current stuff.
as an ACD i'd say lose the junior work unless it's award winning or really speaks to your personal style/work you love, prob no more than 2
Good to know!! Thank you!
