Well-traveled family of four who have seen a good part of the world: for spring break next year go to Finland and Estonia or Italy instead? Thinking Finland for dog sledding and Northern Lights in the northern part , plus time in Tallinn, Helsinki and maybe Turku. Italy - maybe Rome and San Marino or Puglia. Never been to Italy

We did Tromsø, Norway last year, with a jump up to Alta, Norway.

Tromsø was a charm and the Northern Lights were A+ there. We did a multi-day dogsledding trip in Alta under the Aurora with Trasti & Trine. We were there for the midnight sun, so you wouldn't get that in spring, but we also dealt with cold as low as -40°

The dogsledding was pretty wild. The serenity was surreal. Everyone had their own sled and quad of dogs. We stayed in a cabin deep in the finnmark plateau. 100% would do it again if there weren't a million other things to do and see.

Love Norway. Visited the Lofoten Islands years ago. Hardly any visitors. Seems more popular now, though

I just got back from Italy (Rome and Florence). Never been to Finland. I guess I went to Italy twice before going to Finland once.

I was in Tallin and Parnu last summer. I was in Tallinn for 2 days and could have definitely done 2 more. You can ferry easily to Helsinki from there. Not sure what it’s like in spring—I was there in August. Warm in the afternoon—sleeves/pants at night and in morning. Loved it though! Italy is Italy. Amazing in every way.
