Great Smoky Mountains is a great fall destination if your kids are a bit outdoorsy. Just don’t stay in Gatlinburg.
So touristy, crowded, and horrible traffic. If you are headed to the area to eat at theme restaurants, play in arcades, and go to odd ball “museums” it is ideal. If you’re there for the smoky mountains and nature, it’s hell on earth. I felt the same way about the town at Mt Rushmore so if you’ve been there it may be a good proxy.
Vancouver? Michigan UP? Door County in WI? Utah .. Zion-ish. Nova Scotia is fantastic. Gets colder about 1-2 months after the US so timing might be good.
Outside the Americas, I’ve wondered about Tenerife. Maybe a bit chilly in fall. Not sure. I found decent deals though.
Awesome. We did that a couple years ago and loved it. Goblin Valley was a highlight.
Alaskan cruise royal Caribbean boat= ovation of the seas. On it now and it’s awesome. Same kids as you
I love the idea of Caribbean, but late fall is prime hurricane season so seems imprudent. Europe, everywhere is $1k-$1.5k per person except for London which will be chilly and rainy. CAN afford it but feels tough to justify these crazy prices.
US southeast isn’t too bad. CA, we can fly to for like $150 per person; I bet we could have a fun time around LA and SD.
I did not know that! Will take a look
San Diego is the best. No one gets bored there
