The Annex and Harbourfront if you enjoy downtown vibes. I suggest these areas because it has the least amount of homeless, more green space for activity and young residents.
Agreed. If they're a new grad and are wanting to find a bunch of other young people for friendships/dating, harbourfront is great. Cityplace is another option. The buildings can be hit or miss but there are a lotta young people and it's easy to get around the city
If you can find a decent cityplace ish building, that’s really the best area. Walking distance to king/spadina/Bathurst for restaurants and easy access to the harbourfront for running, biking, walking, and green space. Also no more than 15-20min walk to work in the financial district.
It used to be that there wasn’t a lot of grocery stores but there’s now a huge loblaws and a farm boy in addition to the sobeys.
Definitely less homeless like D1 said and generally cleaner
I was referring to the niche fitness studios for classes over gyms. Condo gyms are pretty good these days. But there is a few goodlifes
The Beaches or East Toronto
Might be super biased but love the west end. Lived in the annex in my early to mid 20s and loved it. Now a bit further west around Ossington which is a great area.
Way more character, bars, restos (once we're allowed) west with a lot of parks to hang in. Try to get close to the subway line and you should be good to go if you're worried about the commute but I generally walked for the most part.

What are you looking for? What’s your budget? Sounds like a place with restaurants, activities, etc… and close to the office. The suggestions, while helpful are all over the place … I.e. Ajax is probably where you’d go if looking to buy a house and raise a family, whereas annex is a good place if you’re young and don’t have kids. I
Anything up to around $3k for a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo and close to office and things to do. Agree that Ajax might not be the best fit for now haha. Any suggestions?
If you’re looking to stretch your dollar a bit, Southcore is probably still slightly underpriced relative to other neighbourhoods because of office closures.
I really like Southcore - close to office and PATH connected/winter friendly but still a decent and growing amount of shops and restaurants. Close to the lake too
Little Italy, the Annex, Ossington area, Queen West, King West. All have way more going on than the financial district but it’s still easy to get to the office!
Ajax is good and upcoming if you don’t mind a little commute. GO train connectivity and 401 is great.
East end, maybe around cork town or leslieville
I actually rented in Rosedale and loved it. Totally quiet and chill, nice people and places to look at. Can be downtown super quick too.
Thanks for all the suggestions folks! All very helpful tips :)
Etobicoke (Parklawn and Lakeshore) is great. Beautiful neighborhood, lots to do and little to no homelessness. Very easily commutable to downtown as well.
