Happy friday y’all

This design makes me ridiculously happy. That’s all.

I do like it now.

Objectively, a very relevant watch to this hobby that is immensely popular and will likely stay popular.
Subjectively, I don’t find them interesting. I see them as one of the watches people get to be a status symbol / for cache and that if you’re dropping that amount of cash on a watch, there are far more interesting brands and models.
Thank you very much! Really appreciate your time and input
I started my watch journey being intrigued by the Submariner, determined it was too basic, then tried on my brother’s 114060 and confirmed it wasn’t for me (didn’t like the super case.) 10 years later, I reignited my interest in Rolex after cycling through many other brands, tried on the 124060 and knew I had to have it. It goes with everything and is built like a tank, and I will be passing it down to my son.
I've never been a fan of the submariner. It is most certainly easily identifiable as a Rolex, which is what turns me off, as I am not one to buy into the brand hype. Same with the Royal Oak, I don't care for the design, but I do get the draw.
Thoughts on what?
Both are super comfortable to wear. That’s another reason for popularity beyond everything else that’s been said here.
