What are some of the best countries to work in as a research scientist?

I understand the importance of citations. It's a wonderful way to show how your work builds on previous research. But sometimes I just want to write an article that says "I think this" without having to cite everyone who ever said that before me.

I love scientists online, but in person, sometimes it's hard to converse with y'all.
