So many things. First and foremost: make sure they have the tools and resources they need to succeed, i.e computer is set up, access to shared folder, ect. Second: Tour of your facility and staff or if you’re able assign them a “buddy”. Third: schedule introductions to key teammates they will work with and have meetings to introduce what they will be working on and with who. Forth: take them to lunch with their team to encourage a get to know in a casual atmosphere. And finally some company swag to make them feel like they are part of the team. These are just some basics that I do.

I love all of them ideas, you’ve hit the nail on the head there, thank you😊
We try to have check-ins and a lot of open communication when employees first start. Nothing worse than just starting at a place and feeling like you have to go it alone.

That’s great, I love hearing of people having check ins / regular reviews when just starting as I feel this can easily be put on the back burner to do it later but then the time never comes!
A warm welcome goes beyond paperwork. A proper induction plan, a buddy system, and managers who actually show up on day one make the difference. The worst thing is when people feel forgotten or left to figure things out alone.
Don't make them feel like a nuisance they have no idea what to do and so when they ask questions give them that time. If you invest the time with them it will hopefully pay off.
