Is the director's treatment aligned with the vision you have for the spot? Do any of the ideas stand out as amazing or veer too far in the wrong direction? Are there any red flags to adjust before presenting to the client?
Ask for an explanation of anything g you don’t fully understand. Don’t mistake a willingness to collaborate for not taking a position: it might just really be an invitation to discuss.
The only real feedback they want is if they get the award. Directors treatments are 90% a function of sales. They have little to do with the job itself.

Disagree. They want to know if the treatment resonates with the creative team. In my 20 years, they want feedback, good or bad. A lot of time and money is spent writing treatments. I’ve asked some directors to omit sections of the treatment bc it might knock them out of the process. Sure, it’s all to win the award of the job, but they are heavily involved in the entire process.
