We do snacks, the toys just end up in trash and landfills. This year doing mini rice krispies and pretzels!
My 7 year old made custom bracelets for everyone in her class, I’m amazed that she had the patience for that.
4yo in preschool and we got cards of Amazon. They are croc shaped and come with a pack of jibbitz to decorate them. I just let my daughter loose with it.
Tbh, I really hope she doesn’t come home from her party today with slime. I LOATHE slime.
I just attached a pack of toddler teething crackers to each paper valentine. 12 packs in a box in a box, each pack is wrapped, so it worked pretty easily!
I did a pack of pretzels this year like the valentines ones
I know the moment has passed but just wanted to say: I do the cards and nothing else. I also don’t give out goodie bags at birthday parties. I’ve opted out of the bs and it hasn’t affected me or my son socially or otherwise. Just want to emphasize that that is also an option.
I get for the parents it’s annoying to get all this junk but my little one loves it! It’s so much easier getting him out of a birthday party when he knows the goody bag is the last thing before we get into the car. To each their own
OP: Yes. You are absolutely overthinking this. Do what you feel like doing as long as it is OK with the school/teacher. They will get plenty of all of it...candy, cards, junky toys. Unless they can eat it, it will end up in the trash anyway, so don't get too carried away!
