I am currently interviewing at TikTok for the Content Partnerships Lead role. Can anyone share some insight into the salary bands in the Sub-Saharan African market? Should I benchmark with the global rates?
Any tips and experiences interviewing in this region are also welcome - and highly appreciated! :)

For associates, there is a huge pool of applicants directly from their desired schools. For experienced associates, it seems to be people jumping from one big 4 to another. Don’t get discouraged, but it may be tricky to land a spot.
Nice! Good luck at the interview! Do you have tax experience, just not with a PA firm? Or no tax experience at all? If none at all, I would suggest letting the recruiter know so you can be placed appropriately. A senior in tax would be reviewing returns, so you don’t want to set up yourself for a big headache!

You say the interviews "went well", but my guess is that they did not in fact go well.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. Definitely I will go back to check what I put on the application form for the salary expectation.
I got a rejection email right after the call with the recruiter. The smaller firm was behind in terms of technology. I listed my skillset including Alteryx, SQL etc. She did not know what they are. I was not a good fit for them. But I got an offer from a high tech company instead. So I am good. Please think as a learning experience and move on. Good luck.
Congrats and thank you. I guess this is the way to learn and move on.

Yeah ive gotten out of interviews with a really good feeling only to get rejected. It’s best to figure out what went wrong and move on to the next company.
Thank you so much. This is something that I should know. I thought once the recruiter processed the application, there will be a second-round interview for sure. I didn’t know the partner, or the manager will select candidates from the screened pool again.
Contact your recruiter for constructive feedback. I’ve seen rejection letters go out before even the first interview. someone might have selected something in human error.
Oh I’m sorry to hear that! Definitely not something I like to hear as an SM who works closely with the recruiters for interviews. You could also reach out to your first interviewer to see if they can connect you with someone more responsive.
Why not apply for senior associate? We are in desperate need of seniors!! You might be overqualified for associate given you already have 3 years
Bad advice. Seniors need to know how to review returns and guide those below them.
Maybe you aren’t as experienced as you think you are. Applying to senior roles without PA experience, that’s not really a great idea because you will have no idea what you’re doing and will be expected to review and coach without any relevant experience.
Thank you. Definitely I will check out some mid-tier firms. But I want to focus on big 4 at first. Yes, reviewing tax returns is my daily work.
