I graduated in 2012 at an out of state college averaging $25k per year in tuition. I paid for all of it in loans, most in private loans. Am I the only one still paying for their student loans 8 years after graduation? I’m going to be done by next year fortunately :) but I just see all many people here that are done with student loans much earlier.

Current CTC 23.. that's the best offer I have but I was expecting more from amazon. That say that's the highest they can pay... does that look good. Hi everyone. Has anyone here ever taken a sabbatical from the workplace? I have been afraid to take the leap but am finding myself considering it and was looking to see if anyone had perspectives. Like so many, the last few years have brought a lot of life and career challenges. I have funds to cover my expenses for 9 months or longer but I worry about finding something when I’m ready to return. Thoughts?

Hey there! really need a change in pace from being in higher levels of care, and am wanting to go part-time with my company and private practice, but I want to buy a house in the next year and am worried about finances. I’m a licensed clinical social worker in Canada, moving to California in 4 months (LCSW transfer for CA in progress).
I currently have my own virtual practice in Canada and would like to relocate this to California. My question is, how difficult is the process of credentialing in-network with various insurance companies and do they provide reliable, consistent referrals if you are credentialed with them? Any other advice on building clients in a virtual space in CA is welcomed
Recently received my CSW license and have started working as a therapist at an outpatient clinic. Is a starting salary of $64,500 fair? I am supposed to aim for 28 billing hours (get paid if clients show or not) a week with 12 hours of admin time for other tasks. Thanks for any input.
Do you believe in manifestation? Or in some celestial being watching over us and granting us our prayers? I feel like a lot of people who go into social work believe in a higher power. Is it bad that I don't believe in anything but science? That isn't to say I judge anyone who believes, but I'm worried I'm not spiritually cut out for the job. Thoughts?

Does anyone have a case they never really felt good about even after it ended? There are a few where I know I did my job correctly and to the letter, but the outcome has never satisfied me or it didn't get solved how I would like it to. I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

Anyone here ever struggled working at a private practice during your first year as a licensed counselor? I work well with the clients but I find it difficult to accept the pay I receive for the amount of work I do and is required. Lately, I realize I haven’t been putting in much effort towards paperwork because of the pay I receive.

I talked to others about my work. I also ended up seeing another therapist for several years just for someone to talk to bc i always didn't want to unload on my family or friends.
That’s helpful to know. I’m feeling the same way. Some of the stuff you see at work just feels too heavy to constantly bring up with friends. Thanks for sharing.
Join a peer support group (or start one in your area). I find that nobody truly "gets" what we go through unless they too have experienced it. It can also be helpful to find a hobby or passion outside of the workplace. For me, this is how I let off steam and manage my own personal wellbeing.
I haven't been :/. My only recovery has been with the help of my own therapist, who I always say is way better than me at knowing what's going on in my head. I think what I really need is a break.
I feel the same way- I’m definitely struggling to feel replenished. So many high need clients and too much paperwork to truly feel well rested.
