Also what are the type of lies? I have lower tolerance when someone is punching down to avoid responsibility for example.
I have had people show me how they search and corrected their methods. Agree that it is likely not bad will.

I always assume that no one is intentionally bad at their job. As a junior attorney myself, I know that my work product is not going to be perfect (even though I try my absolute best) and I hate knowing that a more Sr. Attorney is going to have to spend the time reviewing/fixing my work. I hate being a burden but understand that this is part of the learning process.
I would have an honest conversation with them. If you have specific evidence, I would show it to them. I wouldn't come into the conversation with the intent to punish them, rather I would try to understand their motivation. Are they doing this because they're overwhelmed? Or is there truly mal intent?
I would try to help them to understand the impact that their behavior is having on you, your case and their reputation. If you can, work with them to come up with a plan to improve.
